Nigel Salsbury as Mr. Fezziwig, Caroller
Since moving to New Zealand in 2007, Nigel has been a chorus member and soloist for the Christchurch-based Liedertafel Male Voice Choir, who perform three annual concerts and at Dawn Parade on Anzac Day.
From 2012 to late 2022, he was one of a small seven-part ensemble called Quicksilver, which, while performing traditional music of all genres, specialised in the performance of satirical variety-style repertoire, and popular music with an ironic twist.
From 2011 until its recent disestablishment, Nigel was an active member of the Opera Club – Christchurch, both as a soloist and as an ensemble singer, where he performed at numerous concerts and charity functions throughout Waitaha Canterbury under the Musical Directorship of Sharolyn Kimmorley.
During this time, he has also worked regularly for New Zealand Opera, appearing in the chorus and in several comprimario roles in the company’s Christchurch mainstage seasons, including Don Giovanni, La Bohème, La Traviata, Carmen, Tosca, The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro, Macbeth, Così fan tutte, and Le Comte Ory.
