Rosalind Robinson as Adelaide Cratchit
Rosa is currently in Year 3 at Te Kura o Huriawa Thorrington where her teacher is Kristika Burridge. She has been studying dance with Sara Anderson since she was 3 years old and passed her BBO Dance Grade 1 examination with distinction in 2024.
A great reader, Rosa’s favourite authors at the moment are Ben Miller, Judy Blume, Laura Ellen Anderson, and Rick Riordan. She also loves swimming, tennis, playing with her friends, and drama – having been introduced to acting last year at school playing a dragonfly in her reading group's play. She has had a wonderful year at Thorrington, especially enjoying the opportunity to perform as part of the school choir and Kapa Haka group.
Her favourite colour is rainbow, her favourite animal is her cat Horatio, her favourite toy is Cascade the Squishmallow, her favourite song is Tūtira mai ngā iwi, and her favourite food is sushi.
In December 2023, she made her opera debut, playing Adelaide Cratchit in Toi Toi Opera’s season of Philip Norman’s A Christmas Carol, and in January 2024 she played Bluebell the Blue Mantua Butterfly in their season of John Davies’ children’s opera Goldie B. Locks & the Three Singing Bears. She is very excited to be reprising her role as Adelaide, and especially can’t wait to see what Mrs. Cratchit has cooked up for Christmas Dinner this year!
