John Bayne - Sam (Trouble in Tahiti)

John is a performance artist and educator specializing in acting and singing. He has worked as an actor, swing, and vocal coach with Pop-up Globe throughout New Zealand and Australia and is also often featured as a chorus member with New Zealand Opera. John is a founding member of Third Bear, a new Shakespeare company, and has also worked with Blind Cupid Shakespeare Company.

Christchurch born and raised, John is also a tutor at Greenstone Academy and a teaching artist at The Court Theatre. He trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, and is currently being mentored by Graham and Stefanie Anduri.

John is passionate about accessibility and affordability in the arts. In light of this, he intends to collaborate with artists of various media to produce open-air theatre. John is especially interested both in creating work that incorporates circus arts within productions of Shakespeare’s plays, and also in blending classical singing with electronic music.
