Louisa Pilkington - The Mistress of the Novices

Mezzo Louisa is a past member of the Canterbury Opera chorus and has sung as both chorister and soloist with CBS Music, Jubilate Singers, Cantores, the Christchurch City Choir and the Nelson Civic Choir.

A current member of CBS Music, she includes in her repertoire many sacred works, most significantly Handel’s Messiah, J. S. Bach’s St. John Passion, and Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor.

Recent recitals include performances of Petr Eben’s Loveless Songs, Rossini’s Venetian Regatta Songs, and Brahms’ Zwei Gesange.

Canterbury Opera performances include Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Bizet’s Pearl Fishers, Puccini’s La Bohème, Phillip Norman’s A Christmas Carol, Gounod’s Faust, and Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.
