Rory Sweeney - Soldier-Soloist

Christchurch-based baritone Rory holds a BMus(Hons) from the University of Otago and a BMus from the New Zealand School of Music - Te Kōkī.

He is a former member of the New Zealand Youth Choir, Lay Clerk at Christchurch Transitional Cathedral, current member of the New Zealand Opera Chorus and Voices NZ Chamber Choir, and has performed as a soloist with many choirs and orchestras in Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

In 2016 Rory travelled to America to study privately with Richard Conrad near his home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which he found musically and culturally nourishing. Rory now learns from Judy Bellingham, and aside from singing enjoys photography, cycling, and playing social netball.
