Deirdre Fell - Head of Hair & Makeup

Deirdre has studied beauty and FX makeup with Kristen Stewart School of Makeup. In her free time she works as a freelance makeup artist and provides makeup services for weddings, formal/special events and fancy dress, has worked with photographers for editorial and magazine shoots and has been involved in local TV, film and fashion shows.

She has extensive makeup experience in theatre and has been on wig and makeup teams with NZ Opera, Showbiz and Canterbury Children’s Theatre, was makeup and hair artist for Atlas Voices’ 2018 performance of Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Head of Hair & Makeup for Toi Toi Opera’s inaugural production in 2021, Suor Angelica & Elegies.

Deirdre is classically trained in singing and piano, and has appeared in musical theatre productions in Christchurch, Tauranga and Matamata. She has previously been an ensemble member with Canterbury Opera and is currently a member of the CSO Symphony Chorus.

During the day Deirdre is the Estates Manager and a Senior Associate with Harmans Lawyers.
